IPB University International KKNT Students Introduce Indonesian Culture and Education to Thai Muslims
International Thematic Real Work Lecture (KKNT) students from IPB University succeeded in captivating students at Muslimeen Suksa School, Hatyai, Thailand. For 24 days, IPB University students from the Faculty of Economics and Management introduced Indonesian culture through the ‘Exploring The Treasures of Indonesia’ program.Â
Fatimah, a student of KKNT International IPB University explained, various interesting activities were held in this program. Starting from learning Indonesian language, drawing and coloring batik, to exploring Indonesia.Â
“Kindergarten children are invited to learn letters, numbers, and nursery rhymes in Indonesian. Meanwhile, elementary school students learn daily vocabulary, reading and writing. Junior and senior high school students are given more complex material such as daily conversation and grammar,” said Fatimah.
Fatimah continued, besides learning Indonesian, one of the activities that Muslimeen Suksa School students are interested in is drawing and coloring batik. Students are invited to directly make Megamendung batik motifs, from drawing to coloring.
“This activity not only introduces the beauty of Indonesian cultural heritage batik art, but also fosters appreciation for Indonesian arts and handicrafts,” said this IPB University student from the Faculty of Economics and Management.
The highlight of the event was Jelajah Indonesia. This program presents complete information about various tourist destinations, cultural richness, and educational opportunities in Indonesia, including at IPB University. Information on scholarships was also provided to attract Thai students to continue their studies in Indonesia.
“We hope this program can foster Thai students’ interest in Indonesia and open up opportunities for them to continue their studies in Indonesia,” said Fatimah, the leader of IPB University’s International KKNT student group at Muslimeen Suksa School.
She added that the Exploring The Treasures of Indonesia program is a real proof of the spirit of IPB University students in teaching. Hopefully, activities like this can continue to be carried out to open the gates of knowledge and introduce Indonesia’s cultural heritage to the world. (*/ra/Rz) (IAAS/HRD)
