IPB University Again Achieves General Champion Achievement in Satria Data Year 2024

IPB University again made a brilliant achievement by winning the title of General Champion in the Statistika Ria and Data Science Festival (Satria Data) 2024. This prestigious competition was held from July 29 to August 2, 2024 at Telkom University, Bandung.

The IPB University contingent managed to record extraordinary achievements by winning 1 gold medal, 2 silver medals, 1 bronze medal, and 2 other awards. This success confirms the position of IPB University as one of the leading educational institutions in Indonesia in the field of statistics and data science.

Satria Data is an annual competition organized by the Indonesian Talent Development Center (BPTI) through the National Achievement Center (Puspresnas), as a form of support from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbudristek) for the advancement of statistics and data science. 

This year, the event was attended by more than 1.000 participants from all over Indonesia. They competed in the preliminary, semifinal, and final rounds held live at Telkom University.

Dr Dida Diah Damajanti, Vice Rector for Admissions, Student Affairs and Alumni of Telkom University as well as Chief Executive of Satria Data, revealed, “There are 120 participants from 18 universities in Indonesia who competed in Satria Data 2024. This is a great opportunity to see and appreciate young talents in the field of statistics and data science.”

The IPB University contingent showed an impressive performance with 4 finalists in the National Statistics Competition (NSC), 3 finalists in the Statistics Essay Competition (SEC), 1 finalist in the Statistics Infographics Competition (SIC), and 1 finalist in the Big Data Challenge (BDC).

During the four-day event, participants were involved in national seminars, competitions, and workshops with the theme ‘Synergy of Statistics and Science Talents: Building Collaborative Achievement in Data Science’.

“I am very happy and grateful for this achievement. All our efforts and hard work have paid off with this award. Our message to everyone is to never give up and keep facing challenges,” said Delita, one of the finalists, a delegate from IPB University.

Satria Data 2024 is expected to develop the ability of students who are talented and characterized in the field of statistics and data science, as well as encourage equal distribution of achievements in all universities in Indonesia, in order to find students who have the potential in this field.
