Improving Digital Promotion Strategies for Tourism Villages, PPK Ormawa BEM FMIPA IPB Presents Experts Through Sobat Bumi
The Student Executive Board of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (BEM FMIPA) IPB University through the Student Organization Capacity Building Program (PPK Ormawa) held a digital promotion strategy training for tourism village managers in the Sobat Bumi program: Chapter 3 program in Ciasmara Village, Bogor, West Java (2/8).
Ted Hilbert, Digital Transformation Practitioner, provided practical guidance on the use of social media and websites to maximize exposure of tourist destinations. Engaging content, content diversification, and posting frequency are essential to increase visibility on social media, he said.
“To attract the attention of the audience, interesting content is the key. Do not only highlight the beauty of the main tourist attraction, but also show various other interesting objects. In addition, add descriptions or stories that arouse audience interest. By frequently posting quality content, social media algorithms will better support the visibility and reach of our posts,” Ted explained.
He added that by featuring local activities, culinary specialties, and cultural uniqueness, tourism village managers can build a more comprehensive and interesting narrative. This method is expected to increase attractiveness and interaction with audiences on social media.
Dicky Arya Arjuna, as the Team Leader of PPK Ormawa BEM FMIPA IPB University, expressed his hope for the success of this program in empowering the community regarding tourism village management.
“With the skills and knowledge gained from Sobat Bumi: Chapter 3, we believe the people of Ciasmara Village will be better equipped to promote their village effectively. This is an important step to ensure Ciasmara Village is widely recognized as a leading tourism village,” he said.
In addition, Juna said, the Sobat Bumi activity this time not only discussed digital promotion strategies, but also involved hands-on practical sessions in the field. Participants were invited to apply the knowledge they had gained by taking photos and videos of various interesting spots in Ciasmara Village. Including how to edit content and write interesting captions before uploading to social media.
Towards the end of the event, Juna again emphasized the importance of cooperation and commitment from all elements of the community in developing the tourism potential of Ciasmara Village. “The success of this tourism village is the result of joint efforts. By working together, we can create a tourism village that is not only attractive, but also sustainable,” Juna concluded. (*/Rz) (IAAS/NYS).
