“Bank Indonesia is ready to fully support synergy activities between academics and the government to reduce inflation in Aceh Province,” said Hertha Bastiawan.Â
Marhaban, MSi as the Secretary of West Aceh said that he was very happy with the Fish Aggregation Device (FAD) technology to be implemented in West Aceh. He also strongly supports that FADs can be implemented other than in West Aceh.Â
The same thing was conveyed by the UTU Rector who was also happy with this synergy. He hopes that this programme can continue to work together and be sustainable. “Hopefully it can produce regulations in the utilisation of FADs so that it can be sustainable,” he hoped.
Dr Roza said that the FAD innovation was an innovation from the collaboration between Teuku Umar University and IPB University since 2016. FADs can be implemented because they can increase catches and fuel efficiency.
The socialisation of fibre FADs and the fisheries supply chain was attended by 20 panglima laot and KUBs. The fishermen were very enthusiastic about this activity. Dr Roza hoped that the fishermen could use the fibre FADs as fishing aids so that fishermen’s productivity could increase.
“Hopefully the synergy of cooperation between academics, local government and Bank Indonesia can provide benefits for panglima laot and KUB and the fishermen’s economy,” he said. (*/Rz) (IAAS/RUM)
