DPMA IPB University Participates in Congress III of Food Bank Indonesia
The Directorate of Agromaritime Community Development (DPMA) of IPB University participated in the III Congress of the Indonesian Food Bank Network organized by the Foodbank of Indonesia Network (FOIN) at Bentara Budaya Jakarta. This participation is one of DPMA IPB University’s strategic steps in supporting the empowerment of agromaritime communities, especially in the field of food security and strengthening the local economy.
The congress, which took place in Jakarta, discussed various important issues, including the transformation of the food system, the role of food in children’s intelligence, and efforts to improve nutritional quality through community food security. During the discussion, DPMA IPB University voiced the importance of collaboration between the government, private sector, and social organizations such as Foodbank of Indonesia to create joint solutions that can improve national food security and reduce food insecurity in the community.
Nur Fajri Rahmawati, SP, Social Entrepreneurship Supervisor of DPMA IPB University, said that participation in this congress emphasized DPMA’s strategic role in developing an entrepreneurial ecosystem that supports food security.
“Our participation in Congress III of the Indonesian Food Bank is part of DPMA IPB University’s commitment to continue encouraging initiatives that strengthen the local economy and food security. We believe that through close collaboration between various parties, we can create sustainable and impactful solutions for the community,” said Nur Fajri.
In addition to participating in the discussion, DPMA IPB University also took part in a ‘people’s market’ featuring various local food-based micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs). Excellent products from various regions were exhibited, providing opportunities for business actors to expand their networks, share experiences, and strategize in strengthening national food security.
“The involvement of DPMA IPB University in this activity is in line with our mission to encourage the economic-social resilience of agromaritime communities in Indonesia,” she said.
Nur Fajri added that the participation of DPMA IPB University in the III Congress of the Indonesian Food Bank emphasized the commitment to continue to be active in various activities that support community empowerment and agromaritime-based economic development. As part of the effort to realize a more independent and sovereign Indonesia in the food sector, he said, DPMA IPB University will continue to play a role in various initiatives that focus on food security and community welfare.
