Cool! IPB University Students Hold Perca Crafty Day in Perca Village, Sindangsari Village
IPB University students who are running an Innovation Real-Thematic Work Lecture (KKNT) in Sindangsari Village, Bogor, West Java, held a Perca Crafty Day event in Kampung Perca. The event aimed to empower teenagers through the utilization of patchwork waste into creative and economically valuable products, such as key chains.
The event, which took place at Pak Has Gallery in Kampung Perca, was attended by 25 teenagers. The IPB University students, in collaboration with local craftsmen, provided training on how to process patchwork into accessories, namely keychains. The training not only focused on basic techniques, but also covered various aspects of design and innovation to create unique and attractive products.
In her speech, the coordinator of the KKNT Innovation group, Indira, said that the Perca Crafty Day is expected to provide new skills to teenagers so that they can produce high-value products and develop an entrepreneurial spirit.
Indira emphasized the importance of creativity and innovation in facing the current economic challenges. “Through this training, we hope that teenagers will not only learn the basic techniques of making patchwork crafts, but also how to develop creative ideas into products that have added value,” said Indira.
She also added that this activity is designed to encourage teenagers to be more independent and productive. “By having the skills to make craft products, teenagers can create their own business opportunities. This is the first step to building an entrepreneurial mentality early on, so that they can contribute to the local economy and create jobs in their neighborhood,” she explained.
The participants were very enthusiastic about this activity. They not only learned to make patchwork products in the form of key chains, but also gained valuable insights.
At the end of the event, the work that has been made is given to each participant and can be taken home. This added pride and motivation for the teenagers to continue developing their skills.
Perca Crafty Day in Kampung Perca is one of a series of KKNT Inovasi IPB University activities that take place in Sindangsari Village. With this activity, Indira hopes that teenagers can be more creative and independent in utilizing patchwork waste, and can improve the family economy through handicraft businesses.
