Campus Introduction Period for New Students (MPKMB) IPB University batch 61 has ended. The IPB Future Museum and Gallery under the auspices of the Institute for Information Management and Digital Transformation (LMITD) unit also enlivened the MPKMB event in 2024.

One of the activities carried out is to create a visit program for new undergraduate students of batch 61. The purpose of this program is to equip new students about the history of agricultural higher education institutions in Indonesia, its development, and its vision for the future. This activity took place for two weeks from July 29 to August 15, 2024.

This visit is one part of the MPKMB assignment. The new students of batch 61 ‘Narapati Bimantara’ were tasked with knowing the past, present, and future of IPB University. Answers about the three periods can be found by visiting the IPB Future Museum and Gallery.

Assistant for Digital Archives and Museum Management of LMITD IPB University, Lina Herlina Tresnawati, SKomp, MKom explained, during the visit the new students could access all digital collections contained in 11 rooms in the museum.

“In addition, we also present various interesting services such as 360 videobooth, Virtual Campus Tour (VCT), and Virtual Reality (VR). These services are here to create an exciting experience for MPKMB participants when visiting the IPB Future Museum and Gallery,” he explained.

The MPKMB participants responded positively to the new breakthroughs made by the IPB Future Museum and Gallery. One of the MPKMB participants named Puspita Sukma felt quite amazed by the VR service and aesthetic panels that could be used as Instagramable photo spots.

Lina Herlina explained, in one week of the program, 3.471 new students had visited the museum. This number is getting closer to the total target of 5.500 people and will continue to grow considering there is still one week left for the implementation of this activity.

“Through this program, new students are expected to have pride in their alma mater and be enthusiastic during their higher education at IPB University,” she said.

On the other hand, she said, this program can also be a reflection for the new students of class 61 that all ideals cannot be obtained through instant means. Therefore, it must be fought for seriously, as the predecessors fought for the establishment of IPB University as a renowned university in Indonesia. (*/Rz) (IAAS/FAE)
