Team PPK Ormawa Himagreto IPB University and Cibunian Community Unite to Build Climate Village
The Agrometeorology Student Association (Himagreto) of IPB University through Program Penguatan Kapasitas Organisasi Kemahasiswaan (PPK Ormawa) shows its commitment in building sustainable villages.
On Saturday (6/7), the PPK Ormawa Himagreto IPB University team held a Climate Village Workshop in Cibunian Village, Pamijahan District, Bogor Regency, West Java. The event was attended by 35 people, including village officials, waqf forest administrators, village youth, supervisors, and target farmer groups.
The workshop was a forum for the parties to work together and build a joint commitment in realising a sustainable Climate Village in Cibunian Village. “Through this PPKO activity, we hope to establish a harmonious and synergistic relationship between students and villagers,” said Himagreto representative Ahmadhanti Hilda Nuryasiin in her speech.
“We are ready to learn from the local wisdom and experience of the community, and try to give the best of what we learnt in college,” Ahmadhanti added.
More than just theory, IPB University students show their seriousness in helping Cibunian Village. Through this programme, the PPK Ormawa Himagreto team invites the entire community to work together to realise the main theme, namely hydrometeorological disaster mitigation integrated with sustainable agriculture in Cibunian Village.
The workshop was filled with a presentation of the Climate Village concept, work programme design, and community participation. The enthusiasm and spirit of the participants was evident in the discussion sessions, showing their commitment to be part of the solution.
Hafidz Nur, Cibunian Village Official said, “The presence of students in this village is one of our hopes to help our area, this activity is hopefully useful for everyone and hopefully can be developed continuously for sustainability.”
He added that the collaboration between students and the community will bring good changes to Cibunian Village. The village government, he said, will certainly always support for the smooth running of activities.
The Climate Village programme in Cibunian not only focuses on landslide mitigation, but also encourages adaptation to climate change and environmental conservation. Through various educational activities, integrated agriculture, and empowered village development, the community is encouraged to live in harmony with nature and build a more sustainable village.
Through this workshop, it is hoped that solid communication and cooperation can be established between the PPKO Himagreto IPB University team, the village government, and the Cibunian community. With the spirit of collaboration and active participation, the Climate Village programme can run successfully and bring benefits to all parties.
