SKHB IPB University Again Organizes Training and Certification of Competence of Laboratory Animal Practitioner Veterinarians

The School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (SKHB) IPB University again held Training and Competency Certification for Laboratory Animal Practitioner Veterinarians, 25-28/6. This activity is a collaboration between SKHB IPB University and the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP).

The activity was attended by lecturers and practitioners with a total of 22 participants. This training activity is the second time organized for veterinarians and practitioners who will enter the field of laboratory animals.

The activity lasted for four days. The material provided ranged from animal sampling and isolation, implementation of biosecurity and OHS to the use of laboratory animals for biomedical research. In addition, participants also practiced using laboratory animals, including handling and restraint, drug application, and euthanasia.

The participants conducted the Competency Test for Laboratory Animal Practitioner Veterinarians, which was attended by two assessors from the Animal Health Professional Certification Institute (LSP Keswan) and BNSP. The presence of the assessors was to test the certification participants.
