Primakelola IPB and PT PLN Indonesia Power Provide Training and Agro-tourism Assistance in Wanadadi Village
PT Primakelola IPB (IPB Consulting) and PT PLN Indonesia Power UBP Mrica together successfully organised training and mentoring on hydroponic melon cultivation for the community in Wanadadi Village, Wanadadi District, Banjarnegara Regency, Central Java.
This activity is also part of IPB Consulting’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) programme through training and mentoring. This training and mentoring activity was attended by 15 representatives from 12 neighbourhood associations (RT) in Wanadadi Village.

In his remarks, Sigit Utoyo as the Chief of Wanadadi Village said, this training and mentoring activity was expected to improve the technical capabilities of melon farmers in Wanadadi Village.
“The melon plant itself has been cultivated several times by the community. However, there are still obstacles to pests and diseases that make the harvest not as expected,” he said.
The training provided consisted of several materials on fertiliser compounding, cultivation techniques and tips, pest and disease control, and business analysis. The material was provided at the Wanadadi Village Hall and continued with field practice at the melon cultivation green house located in the Seakong Agroeduwisata area.
Participants also learned how to make their own hydroponic fertiliser, which can help reduce production costs while still ensuring the nutritional needs of the plants are met.
This training activity is then accompanied by continuous mentoring. This step is to ensure that the cultivation practices carried out after the training remain in accordance with good cultivation standards.
“Hydroponic melon cultivation is one part of Seakong Agroeduwisata located in Wanadadi Village. Through this training and mentoring, it is hoped that it can further increase the attractiveness of the agroeduwisata package developed, and will indirectly support the increase in income of the Wanadadi Village community,” said Sulistianawati, Director of Primakelola IPB Consulting.
