Preparing MSMEs in Sirnajaya Village to Upgrade, KKNT Innovation IPB University Students Teach Digital Marketing
IPB University students who are members of the Innovation Real-Thematic Work Lecture (KKNT) team in Sirnajaya Village, Sukamakmur, Bogor Regency, West Java are carrying out a digital marketing training program for local micro, small and medium enterprises (UMKM). This program took place in Saung Cahaya, Kebon Danas Village, Sukamakmur District.
Sirnajaya Village is a tourist area with a ton of economic potential that is ready to develop rapidly thanks to the increasingly mushrooming growth of MSMEs. However, so far MSME players are still facing a number of problems, one of which is related to marketing.
Muhammad Hasbi Ash Shiddiqi, representative of the IPB University KKNT Innovation team, said that the aim of this program is to overcome the obstacles faced by local MSMEs. The reason is, so far they only sell products to regular customers from the surrounding community and only produce based on orders.
“Even though several local MSME products already have attractive packaging and branding, their marketing scope is still very limited,” he said.
This digital marketing outreach received high enthusiasm from local MSME players, with more than 20 business actors attending, especially in the food sector.
In this counseling, Hayu Adwitya Cahyani and Bil Aimar Al Syafar as representatives of the IPB University KKNT Innovation student team in Sirnajaya Village delivered comprehensive material related to digital marketing, including online marketing strategies, use of social media, and optimizing e-commerce platforms.
Business actors, in practical and sharing sessions, share stories about how their business continues, the obstacles they often face and their desire to market their products online.
After the counseling, the Sirnajaya Village KKNT Innovation team will provide intensive follow-up assistance for the MSMEs present. This assistance includes food photography to increase the visual appeal of products as well as opening and managing an online shop on an e-commerce platform.
“This step is expected to help MSMEs expand their market coverage and increase sales,” explained Hayu Adwitya Cahyani.
Hapsoh, one of the MSMEs from Sirnajaya Village who attended, stated that this activity was very useful because the material provided was very detailed and easy to understand. “With this outreach, we understand more about digital marketing and how to utilize technology to increase sales of our products,” she said.
This work program is expected to have a positive impact on the development of MSMEs in Sirnajaya Village, helping business actors exploit their potential and encourage sustainable economic growth through digital marketing to achieve greater success. (*/Rz) (IAAS/HNJ)
