LKST IPB University Signs MoA with Business Centre Institute of Unuja Probolinggo
Science and Technology Institute (LKST) IPB University signed a memorandum of agreement (MoA) with Lembaga Pusat Bisnis Universitas Nurul Jadid (Unuja) Probolinggo, East Java, Thursday (11/7) at the Startup Centre Building. The scope of cooperation is to improve the quality of human resources (HR) of both institutions that are relevant to their respective scientific fields.
The purpose of this collaboration is to improve and support training activities, product development, internships, benchmarking, and mentoring of micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) fostered in both institutions, and other activities in accordance with their respective functions and authorities.
The signing of the MoA was carried out by Prof Erika B Laconi, Chairperson of Science and Technology Institute (LKST) IPB University, and Nur Elisa Faizaty, SE, MSi, CRA, CSRS as Chief of the Unuja Business Centre Institute.
In her speech, Prof Erika welcomed the cooperation between the two parties. She said IPB University was ready to assist Unuja in empowering MSMEs while accelerating the downstreaming of university research results through innovation development and business incubation programs. “This cooperation is also expected to potentially increase the entrepreneurial capacity of students,” she added.
Meanwhile, Nur Elisa Faizaty, in her speech explained the potential of Unuja as the largest private campus in the Horseshoe area, East Java with 25 study programmes, 4 faculties, and 1 graduate school.
“Entrepreneurship is one aspect that is of concern to Unuja in accordance with its vision and mission. Therefore, efforts to develop a roadmap for entrepreneurship need to be designed systematically and structured,” she explained.
This collaboration, she said, is important for Unuja in getting assistance from the LKST IPB University Business Incubator which has experience in assisting startups and MSMEs. Nur Elisa Faizaty hopes that the LKST IPB University Business Incubator can accompany a series of potential mapping, planning, preparation, and implementation of business incubators at Unuja.
Present at the signing of the MoA were Prof Rokhani Hasbullah, Vice Head of Business Incubation and Industry Collaboration of LKST IPB University, and Deva Primadia Almada, SPi, MSi as Assistant of Business Incubator of LKST IPB University Prof Rokhani explained the services of LKST IPB University which included technical services, technology development and intellectual property rights (IPR) management, business incubation. He also explained the supporting services for income generation such as teaching industry services (beverage line), pilot plant (extractor, spray dryer, freeze dryer, retail packaging) and meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions (MICE).
Meanwhile, Deva Primadia explained the concept of business incubation at LKST IPB University. Starting from recruitment, bootcamp, mentoring, mentoring, to business matching. “LKST IPB University is ready to assist the Unuja Business Centre in developing and running business incubation to grow innovative startups in Probolinggo,” Deva continued.
