KKNT Inovasi IPB University Students Socialize Waste Sorting for Tamansari Village Residents, Bogor
IPB University’s Innovation Real-Thematic Work Lecture (KKNT) students provided socialization of waste sorting in Calobak Village, Tamansari Village, Tamansari District, Bogor Regency, West Java (23/7). This socialization activity was enthusiastically followed by Tamansari villagers who were committed to creating a clean and healthy environment.
Reni Jesika, a representative of the KKNT Inovasi IPB University team in Tamansari Village explained, this socialization activity is one of a series of Tamansari Village Clean Program which is part of the Green Mission of KKNT Inovasi IPB 2024. This green mission aims to increase public awareness of the importance of good and correct waste management.
“The Green Mission of KKNT Inovasi IPB 2024 in Tamansari Village is expected to be an example for other villages in an effort to maintain environmental cleanliness. With full support from the community and village government, Tamansari Village is committed to continuing this waste sorting program in a sustainable manner,” said Reni Jesika, an IPB University student from the Faculty of Agriculture.
In the socialization, she and her team explained the ways of sorting organic and inorganic waste. The IPB University students also explained the importance of recycling to reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfills. Not only that, they also provided practical examples and distributed separate bins to each household in the village.
The Chairperson of RW 08 in Tamansari Village, Junaedi, explained, “Cleanliness is part of faith. With proper waste segregation, we not only protect the environment but also our health.”
Meanwhile, Mia, one of the residents said, “This socialization is very useful. We know better how to separate waste and the importance of keeping the environment clean. (*/ra/Rz) (IAAS/Hap)
