KKNT Innovation Students Invite Students of SDN Cihideung Udik 04 to Visit IPB University’s ATP
IPB University’s Innovation Real-Thematic Work Lecture (KKNT) students stationed in Cihideung Udik Village, Ciampea District, Bogor, West Java held an environmental education program called ‘Environmental Awareness Week’. The program was aimed at students of SDN Cihideung Udik 04.
Using a curricular approach, the program is conducted formally and integrated using the curriculum of Environmental Education (EE) and Natural Science (IPA) subjects.
Mentioned by Haris Akbar Hidayat, one of the KKNT Innovation team members, this activity aims to introduce and raise awareness about the surrounding environment with a fun learning method.Â
“The learning method in this activity is carried out with lectures plus, tours/visits, demonstrations, and teams. The materials that will be taught are about ecosystems in the surrounding environment and waste,” he explained.
The first material explains about harmony in the ecosystem in the surrounding environment consisting of biotic and abiotic components, landscapes (rivers, rice fields, and gardens), interactions of living things and natural disasters.Â
“The second material is about waste utilization, including the definition of waste, the origin of waste, types of waste, and waste utilization. Then this program ends with a tour to the Agribusiness and Technology Park (ATP) IPB University,” he explained.
Widi as the 5th grade teacher of SDN Cihideung Udik 04 is very supportive of the activities carried out at the beginning of this new school year.
“The Environmental Awareness Week is a program that can be used as a good enrichment for children who have just advanced from grade 4 to grade 5. At least this can be used as a representative of the Merdeka curriculum,” he said. (*/Rz) (IAAS/NAU)
