Indo Livestock 2024 Expo and Forum held at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) on (17-19/7) presented many products in the fields of animal husbandry, agriculture and fisheries and animal health. The Faculty of Animal Sciences (Fapet) along with the School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Science (SKHB) IPB University which became one of the participants in this event also displayed several products and innovations.
Not only from lecturers and researchers, products from students, especially in the Student Creativity Programme (PKM) were also presented. One of them is Yola Soft Candy.
The low-sugar rosella yogurt candy, which contains bioactive peptides to prevent hypertension, was favoured by many visitors. In fact, the President of Korean Veterinary Medical Association (KVMA), Dr Ju Hyung Hur, who visited the booth also tasted this innovation. ‘Very good!’ he said enthusiastically.
Several other visitors also gave favourable comments and impressions of the product. Bayu and Biksa from IPB University Vocational School who tried the rosella yoghurt candy for the first time were very impressed with the taste.
“When I look at the composition, this is stevia sweetener, a new product that needs to be tried because the sensation is different. If it is marketed to target children and young people, it feels very fitting,” said Biksa.
Similarly, Bayu was also impressed with the flavour of the candy. “The texture is just right, not too hard and not too mushy, when you eat it, you can feel the yogurt right on your tongue,” he explained.
Apart from the yoghurt candy, there were several PKM products that caught the attention of the visitors. FelVibe, for example, is a urinary care cat diet feed made from prebiotics and herbs with various benefits. FelVibe is a solution for preventive feeding, during illness, and after feline lower urinary tract disease (FLUTD) for cats with safe ingredients and relatively affordable prices. Several cat lovers enthusiastically asked questions about the product.
There was also E-Phote, an environmentally friendly concrete roster which is an innovative roster based on cow faeces waste substitution technology and Spent Bleaching Earth (SBE) waste. This product is here to maximise the potential of waste and support the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. This product has been tested for durability with the advantage of being stronger and cheaper in economic terms. (Femmy/Rz) (IAAS/RUM)
