IPB University’s KKNT Inovasi Students Create People’s Local Economic Movement for Go-Digital MSMEs
In an effort to support the growth and development of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Katulampa Village, Bogor City, West Java, IPB University’s Innovation Thematic Real Work Lecture (KKNT) students launched an innovative programme called Gerakan Ekonomi Lokal Rakyat (GELORA).
The activity was attended by MSME players in Katulampa Village from various RW devices. According to M Viko Putera S, as the leader of the KKNT group, this programme was designed with the main objective of helping local MSMEs to go digital, expand their market, and increase competitiveness in the current digital era.
Irwansyah, as the Head of Katulampa Urban Village, expressed his hope that MSME players in Katulampa will remain enthusiastic in developing their businesses, especially in this rapidly growing digital era.
“The importance of adapting to digital technology is a strategic step to expand the market and increase competitiveness. Hopefully, this programme can be a starting point for local MSMEs to continue to advance and innovate, so that they can contribute more to the local economy,” he said.
“GELORA Katulampa consists of two core events designed to empower local MSMEs. Firstly, socialisation on how to handle products of animal origin, which aims to improve the quality and safety of these products. Secondly, a workshop on the utilisation of the Canva editing application, which provides practical training on how to create attractive and professional marketing content,” said Viko.
Viko continued, a digital marketing consultation was conducted, where MSME players had the opportunity to discuss and get direct advice and real solutions on effective digital marketing strategies.
“Digital marketing is a real challenge faced by MSMEs today, sometimes not only problems in terms of application utilisation but in terms of human resource management. It is not uncommon for us to find it difficult to be consistent in this digital marketing,” said one of the UMKM players in Katulampa Village. (*/Lp) (IAAS/RUM)
