Students of IPB University’s Innovation Real-Thematic Work Lecture (KKNT) in Purwasari Village, Dramaga District, Bogor Regency, West Java, held a training on making organic fertilizer made from livestock waste. This activity aims to maximize the utilization of livestock waste that has not been optimally cultivated in the village that focuses on livestock and agriculture.

The training presented Dr Bramada Winiar Putra, an IPB University lecturer at the Faculty of Animal Science who is an expert in the utilization of livestock products, as a resource person. Bahroin Idris Tampubolon, SE, MSi, who is the field supervisor (DPL) and team leader of the BIMA proposal in Purwasari Village, also attended the event.

The training involved farmers and breeders, both working individually and in farmer groups. The participants gained practical knowledge and skills on how to process livestock waste into quality organic fertilizer.

According to the KKNT Innovation IPB University students, this training aims to support livestock farming activities in Purwasari Village to be more sustainable. They hope that through the maximum utilization of livestock waste, farmers and breeders in this village can not only increase production but also preserve the environment.

Dr Bramada Winiar Putra said that the utilization of livestock waste into organic fertilizer can be an effective solution in reducing waste and increasing soil fertility.

“With this training, it is hoped that farmers and breeders can apply the knowledge gained to increase the productivity of their agriculture and livestock,” he said.

This activity received a positive response from the people of Purwasari Village, who saw great potential in the utilization of livestock waste. Through this initiative, KKNT Innovation IPB University students hope to make a real contribution in improving the welfare of the village community through the implementation of more sustainable and environmentally friendly agricultural and livestock practices.
