Faculty of Medicine IPB University Hosts Benchmarking Visit from Universitas Muhadi Setiabudi Brebes
The Faculty of Medicine (FK) at IPB University welcomed a benchmarking visit in light of the planned establishment of a Faculty of Medicine at Universitas Muhadi Setiabudi (UMUS) Brebes. The 20-member delegation from UMUS Brebes was warmly received by the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Medicine IPB University, Prof Srihadi Agungpriyono, at the AM Satari Building, Dramaga Campus, on Friday (5/7).
“The field of medicine is heavily involved with technological advancements. We hope that together with UMUS, the Faculty of Medicine at IPB University can collaborate to produce the best future generations,” said Prof Srihadi in his welcome speech.
Dr Mohammad Toharudin, Vice Rector I of UMUS Brebes, expressed his aim to receive guidance and advice from IPB University in establishing their Faculty of Medicine. He added that the idea to establish the Faculty of Medicine is a follow-up to their 2019 Development Master Plan (RIP).
“The good reputation of IPB University in the field of science is expected to be both an inspiration and a source of additional information for UMUS to realize this idea,” he said.
“Our visit also serves as a means to establish relations and learn about the governance of the Faculty of Medicine at IPB University while UMUS, as a private university (PTS), awaits permission for the Faculty of Medicine. We hope to gain knowledge and experience to prepare for the licensing of the medical program,” he explained.
During the visit, Prof Srihadi provided an overview of the Medical Program and the establishment process at IPB University to spark further discussion. Dr Naufal M Nurdin, Chairman of the Medical Undergraduate Program at IPB University, also detailed the academic business processes of the Faculty of Medicine to provide more insights.
In addition to discussions on the establishment of the medical program, the UMUS Brebes team was given the opportunity to tour the buildings, facilities, and infrastructure at the Faculty of Medicine IPB University. (MW/Rz) (IAAS/RUM)
