Expanding the Fisheries Potential of Mekarsari Village: PPK Ormawa Team Empowers IPB to Bring 4 Entrepreneurship Village Programs

In order to develop entrepreneurial programs in Mekarsari Village, the Organizational Capacity Strengthening Program (PPK Ormawa) team from the Association of Fisheries Technology Students (Himasilkan) held a workshop at the Mekarsari Village Office Hall, Rancabungur, Bogor, West Java (24/6).

During this event, the PPK Ormawa Himasilkan IPB University team outlined the work program that will be implemented in the coming months, covering five key sectors: Quality Standardization, Product Diversification, Digital Commercialization and Marketing, as well as Financial Management.

The event was attended by Sopwanudi, the Chairman of Mekarsari Village, village chief, neighborhood association (RW) leaders, neighborhood (RT) leaders, and the Women Farmers Group (KWT). Sopwanudi expressed appreciation for the initiative. He hopes that this program will be beneficial for the community.

Teti, the Chairwoman of KWT Mekarsari Village, also expressed her gratitude for their village being chosen as the target of the program. “Thank you for choosing Mekarsari Village as the program target. We hope this program continues to develop and progress, especially in solving the marketing obstacles faced by our products,” she said.

Positive responses also came from the Chief of RW 03, Ining, who hopes that this program will be sustainable, and from the Chief of RW 02, Ade Ismail, who emphasized the participation of all village residents.

Gansuar Sepri, as the Chair of PPK Ormawa Himasilkan IPB University, explained the plan to support village entrepreneurs through an innovative webstore. Training in digital commercialization and marketing is also prepared to help expand the reach of local product markets. He also emphasized the importance of participation and support from all parties, including the village government and the community, for the success of this program.

Ahmad Faiz Al-Ghifari, the President of Himasilkan IPB University, added that solid collaboration will bring positive changes to the Mekarsari Village community.
