DWP Kemenko RI Visit IPB University: A lot of New and Innovative Things

Dharma Wanita Persatuan of the Coordinating Ministry for Human Development and Culture (DWP Kemenko PMK) RI visited IPB University, 12/7. Advisor of Dharma Wanita Persatuan, Dr Suryan Widati and the DWP Kemenko PMK group had the opportunity to visit interesting spots on the campus of IPB University including Himawari Garden, Faculty of Agriculture, SDGs Lake, Taman Semangat (Waste processing), SKHB / Fateta garden, and IPB University Nursery.

The Chief of Agrianita IPB University, Retno Widayawati expressed her gratitude for the visit of the Kemenko PMK group to IPB University. She admitted, it was an honour for Agrianita IPB University because of the arrival of the advisor of DWP Kemenko RI. She hoped that this visit could be the beginning of joint collaboration between Agrianita IPB University and DWP Kemenko RI.

According to Neno – the wife of the Rector of IPB University, Prof Arif Satria -, there are many similarities between the Agrianita IPB University programme and the Dharma Wanita Kemenko RI programme. She said there were many alignments in the programmes ranging from environmental conservation, education, health and community empowerment programmes.

“In the environmental field, we have Taman Semangat or a waste management site, in the field of education, we have 200 foster children, some of whom have attended a number of state universities,” said Neno.

As for the health sector, she said, Agrianita IPB University often holds free medical check-up programmes for students, lecturers and staff. Not only that, Agrianita also has social activities for students by making subsidised food stalls that are filling with a complete and nutritious menu.

Dr Suryan Widati Muhadjir Effendy, Advisor of Dharma Wanita Persatuan, Kemenko PMK RI expressed her gratitude for the warm welcome from Agrianita IPB University. She added that during her visit to IPB University, many new and innovative things were encountered. She gave examples such as Taman Semangat which is a place for waste management, Himawari Faperta garden, SKHB, Fateta and IPB University Nursery.

“So that some of the tasks of the Kemenko PMK have been completed here such as dealing with social education, reducing extreme poverty which is a long-term and sustainable solution,” said Suryan Widati.

She asserted that the answer to the programme of the DWP Kemenko RI could be found at IPB University. She mentioned that one of the tasks of the Kemenko PMK is to prepare and welcome a golden Indonesia.  “How the population is guaranteed food-related needs, at IPB University there are already good and smart practices related to the programme. It can empower all members. We salute the efforts of Agrianita IPB University, so kindly continue the programme and we will try to disseminate good practices that can be followed by many parties,” she said.

The visiting participants also got insights on how to stay beautiful at the age of jelita (approaching fifty years) and lolita (passing fifty years) presented by Dr Indah Sari Hikmaini, a specialist in dermatology, venereology and aesthetics. (IAAS/RSL)
