Developing Young Sociopreneurs, IPB University CEO School Program Gives Debriefing

The CEO School Program of IPB University came back with the theme “Sociopreneur Development through Zakat Fund Management”, which was held online through Zoom Meeting (1/7). This activity presented two expert speakers, namely Mokhamad Mahdum, SE, MIDEc, Ak, CA, CPA, CWM (Vice Chairman of the National Amil Zakat Agency/Baznas), and Dr. Irfan Syauqi Beik (Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Management of IPB University).

Dr Handian Purwawangsa, Director of Agro Maritime Community Development (DPMA) IPB University in his speech conveyed the commitment of IPB University in producing young CEOs to move in the field of sociopreneur. He also described various potential programs that could be collaborated with Baznas.

“Collaboration with Baznas opens up great opportunities for participants to develop creative and innovative ideas in the management of zakat funds, which not only provide economic benefits, but also social for the community. Through this CEO School program, CEO candidates will be selected who will be able to assist the community directly,” said Dr Handian.

Dr Irfan Syauqi Beik as a resource person provided insight into the economic potential of zakat fund management and how it can be a major driver in the economic development of the ummah. He also discussed various strategies to create innovative and sustainable sociopreneur business models.

“Zakat funds have great potential to drive the people’s economy. With the right strategy, we can create a sociopreneur business model that is not only economically profitable but also has a significant social impact,” said Dr Irfan.

Mokhamad Mahdum also explained the role of Baznas in managing zakat funds and how these funds can be utilized for sociopreneur activities. He emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in the management of zakat funds to ensure that the funds are right on target and provide maximum benefits for the recipients.

“The management of zakat funds must be carried out with the principles of transparency and accountability. Through this program, we hope that the participants can understand the mechanism of zakat fund management and apply it in sustainable sociopreneur activities,” said Mokhamad Mahdum.

Through this activity, DPMA IPB University is committed to continuing to support the development of sociopreneurs based on the management of zakat funds. The CEO School program is expected to be a forum for the younger generation to learn and develop themselves into future leaders who are able to optimally utilize zakat funds for the benefit of the people.
