Collaborative Village Entrepreneurship Development, PPK Ormawa Himasilkan IPB University Forms Business Groups in Mekarsari Village
The Student Organization Capacity Building Program (PPK Ormawa) team from the Fisheries Product Technology Student Association (Himasilkan) at IPB University initiated the formation of new entrepreneurship groups in Mekarsari Village, Rancabungur, Bogor, West Java. The establishment of these business groups took place on Thursday, July 4th.
The formation of the entrepreneurship groups involved collaboration between various village organizations: women farmer groups (KWT), family welfare empowerment (PKK), and the Mekarsari Village Working Group (Pokja).
Teti, the Chief of KWT, stated that Mekarsari Village has four working sectors: religion, education, food security, and health. “For group members, we will gather data from the members of the four Pokja sectors and PKK, those who are interested in entrepreneurship and willing to participate in this entrepreneurship program,” Teti explained.
Gansuar Sepri, the Chief of PPK Ormawa, explained that this program aims to form new business groups consisting of 10 people each. Once the business groups are established, they will receive training ranging from product demonstration, product standardization, financial management, to marketing.
He added, “We already have partners for product marketing. So, the products made must meet the standardization requirements to be sold in stores or supermarkets.”
After the program concludes, he hopes that the established groups will continue to collaborate in production and marketing to increase the village’s income and welfare. (*/Rz) (IAAS/RUM)
