IPB University is Hosting the Digital Student Innovation Competition 2024

IPB University had the opportunity to host the Student Digital Innovation Competition (LIDM) 2024 which was held at the IPB Dramaga Campus (10/6).

LIDM is a talent event under the auspices of the Indonesian Talent Development Center (BPTI), National Achievement Center (Puspresnas) – Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemdikbudristek) with a focus on developing digital technology innovation in education and learning.

This year, there are five competition divisions being held, including the categories of digital educational technology innovation, digital educational learning innovation, digital educational videos, digital educational posters and digital microteaching.

Chairman of LIDM 2024 and Director of Student Affairs (Ditmawa) IPB University, Dr Ujang Suwarna said this activity was part of an effort to encourage student creativity and innovation in Indonesia. He said there were as many as 100 teams from all over Indonesia competing as national level finalists represented by 40 universities.

“Welcome and happy competition to all participants. We thank everyone who contributed. Hopefully this activity can continue to be implemented and produce a better event, providing great benefits for education in Indonesia” he said.

Vice Rector for Education and Student Affairs IPB University, Prof Deni Noviana, said that this activity is very important to hold every year. He said that universities with available resources, play a key role in providing a platform to develop potential for participants.

“This competition is not only about today, but also about the future. Students are potential leaders who will bring change for the next 30 years. Let’s show your talents and abilities through this competition, and get ready to shine in the future,” he said.

Expert Staff for Talent Management at the Ministry of Education and Culture, Tatang Muttaqin, PhD, said that education must be equal and of good quality in all regions.

He said this competition was a key part of the national mandate to manage talent in the fields of arts, culture and innovation research.

“It is hoped that this activity can produce innovation and creative technology. For this reason, LIDM is here to deal with real problems in society. Continue to strengthen literacy, digitalization, and build communities and ecosystems in the digital sector,” he said. (dr/lp) (IAAS/HNJ)
