Five STP IPB University Startups Join InnovFest X Elevating Founders 2024 in Singapore
Five startups under the guidance of Science Techno Park (STP) participated in the InnovFest x Elevating Founders 2024 activity in Singapore some time ago. The five startups are SanGreat (Healthcare), Biomagg (Waste management and environment), Pelita Desa (agriculture), Arae (environment), and Lokasoka (ICT).
The Chairperson of Science and Technology Area Institute (STP IPB), Prof Erika B Laconi together with Assistant of Business Incubator Division, Deva Primadia Almada directly led the five startups to fill three booths at the event (1 STP IPB booth and 2 booths for startups).
During InnovFest, STP IPB University’s booth and startup booth were visited by many visitors from outside and other exhibitors. The majority of them highly appreciated the products on display.
Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Parekraf), Sandiaga Uno and Indonesian Ambassador to Singapore, Suryopratomo also attended and visited the STP IPB and startup booths.
More than three potential partners in Singapore were interested in working with STP IPB University regarding incubation, acceleration and startup business development. In addition, there were a total of 9 Letters of Intent (LoI) agreed by 5 startups with various business partners during InnovFest.
“I really appreciate the enthusiasm, skills, communication and interaction of the STP team and the five startups with visitors during the event. Look for as many business partners as possible at this event, and immediately follow up on the LoI that has been obtained to be poured into an official business cooperation (MoU / MoA) that is mutually beneficial,” Prof. Erika said.
InnovFest x Elevating Founders is a prestigious annual startup event organized by the National University of Singapore (NUS) under the Asia Tech x Singapore program. InnovFest brings together business ecosystems from various countries in Asia, including startups, venture capital, corporations, higher education institutions, government agencies and media.
InnovFest aims to develop and promote startups, bringing together business ecosystems from across Asia and the world, as well as new technologies and exciting ideas. The event began with an Innovation Lab Tour to Singapore Science Park, NUS Enterprise, Shopee, startups and Block71.
In the opening remarks by the President of NUS, Prof Tan Eng Chye, explained that NUS wants to work together with all parties and stakeholders to develop startups in Asia, one of which is through the development of Block71 in various countries, including Indonesia (Jakarta, Bandung, Jogjakarta).
“Innovfest is an event for collaboration of all stakeholders to develop startups, and this year InnovFest focuses on the fields of ICT and digitalization, sustainability and environment, agriculture, healthcare and AI,” he continued.
This year’s InnovFest exhibition was attended by hundreds of startups and industries from various countries with a distribution of industry categories consisting of Industry 5.0 (robots and smart cities) as much as 32 percent, Sustainability (climate, energy, material science) as much as 24 percent, Health-tech as much as 15 percent, AI (Web3 and Gen AI) as much as 14 percent, Food Security (Agri, Aquaculture) as much as 9 percent, and EduTech as much as 6 percent.
Startups from several universities in Indonesia (Gadjah Mada University, Bandung Institute of Technology, University of Indonesia, and Tarumanagara University) and ministries/institutions (Ministry of Communication and Information, Ministry of Industry, and Revolving Fund Management Institution) also exhibited their products.
