IPB University’s Director of Agromaritime Community Development, Dr Handian Purwawangsa, inaugurated the Student Service Forum. This forum is an initiative of the Directorate of Agromaritime Community Development (DPMA) and the Student Executive Board of the Student Family (BEM KM) of IPB University.

The Student Service Forum is designed to synergise the vision and mission of service among various student organisations (ormawa) at IPB University, especially in contributing to the villages around the campus.

With this forum, it is expected that the service carried out can be more targeted, not solely based on the interests of certain individuals or groups. In addition, the main goal is to create wider and sustainable benefits for the community.

Dr Handian in his speech emphasised the importance of collaboration and harmony in carrying out community service programmes. “With this forum, we hope that every community service activity can be more structured and directed, and able to have a significant impact on the surrounding community,” he said.

In addition, the inauguration event was also attended by M Isbayu, Supervisor of Social Entrepreneurship DPMA IPB University, who also gave his speech. He stated that this collaboration between ormawa would not only increase the effectiveness of the service programme, but would also encourage innovation and social entrepreneurship among students.

“Through the Student Service Forum, we can combine the creativity and entrepreneurial spirit of students to create sustainable solutions for society,” said M Isbayu.

The inauguration event was also attended by representatives from various organisations at IPB University who welcomed this initiative. They hope that, with the Student Service Forum, service activities can be more coordinated and have a positive impact on the villages around the campus.

The Student Service Forum is a concrete step for IPB University in optimising the potential of students to contribute directly to society, with the spirit of collaboration and sustainability. (*/Rz) (IAAS/RUM)
