LKST Collaborates with Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs to Select 20 Tenants for Startup Capacity Enhancement Program

LKST IPB University, in collaboration with the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs (Kemenkop UKM), conducted the Selection of Tenants for the Startup Capacity Enhancement Program at the Startup Center (GSC) Building, IPB Taman Kencana Campus, Bogor (2/5).

Christina Agustin, Assistant Deputy for Information Technology Development and Business Incubation at Kemenkop UKM, stated that the program aims to enhance the capacity of startups in agriculture, aquaculture, green business, and other technology innovations based on agriculture.

“The program’s activities include selection processes, boot camps, coaching, and demo days attended by foreign partners from countries such as the Netherlands, Australia, Korea, Japan, and the United Kingdom. We hope that the startup community at LKST IPB University can support the programs currently being run by Kemenkop UKM,” she said.

Prof Erika B Laconi, Chairperson of LKST IPB University, expressed in her remarks that this collaborative program is expected to bridge startups to scale up, excel, innovate continuously, and enhance IPB University’s reputation nationally and internationally.

“Therefore, selected startups must enhance their capabilities to develop networks with business partners abroad,” Prof Erika continued.

Meanwhile, Deputy for Entrepreneurship at Kemenkop UKM, Ir Siti Azizah, stated in her speech that the series of startup capacity enhancement programs does not only culminate in Demo Day but will also be connected to financing through the Entrepreneur Financial Fiesta and Entrepreneur Hub, which are flagship programs of the Deputy for Entrepreneurship.

“Not only programs within the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs, but we have also explored opportunities in several countries to connect them to financing, cooperation, and marketing with startups, with the hope that startups can continue to grow and go international,” said Siti Azizah.

Deva Primadia Almada, Assistant for Business Incubators at LKST IPB University, reported that a total of 39 prospective tenants applied to participate in the selection process.

“The prospective tenants come from startup alumni of IPB University and the general public, who are under the guidance of the Bogor Regency and Bogor City Governments, operating in sectors including food, agriculture, information and communication technology (ICT), services, and creative industries. In the 2024 Startup Capacity Enhancement Program, 20 startup participants will be selected,” Deva continued. (stpipb/Lp) (IAAS/PRP)
