Lively IPB Job Fair 2024, Flood of Job Vacancies and Scholarships
There were at least 36 companies that opened job vacancies, internships and scholarships in IPB Job Fair 2024. IPB Job Fair 2024 was held for two days at Graha Widya Wisuda (GWW), Campus of IPB Dramaga, Bogor, (17-18/5).
Vice Rector for Education and Student Affairs, Prof Deni Noviana in his speech welcomed the partners who had participated in order to find the best candidates at IPB University. He added that IPB University had implemented talent mapping for new students.
Prof Deni Noviana said, from the results of talent mapping, there are four major groups of student desires related to their careers, namely 43 percent want to work in the professional field, 34 percent want to become entrepreneurs, 14 percent want to become bureaucrats. The remaining 7 percent want to be researchers or lecturers.
“In this job fair, in order to accommodate the 40 percent who want to become professionals, entrepreneurs, related to career researchers there is a special stand for scholarships,” said Prof Deni Noviana.
Assistant Director of Career Development and Entrepreneurship – Directorate of Student Affairs of IPB University, Rici Tri Harpin Pranata, SKPm, MSi in her report conveyed that IPB Job Fair aims to deliver graduates and alumni to get a job in accordance with their respective interests and expertise. She added, IPB Job Fair also facilitates graduates who want to continue their studies to a higher education level.
“IPB Job Fair also tries to facilitate students who want to develop skills and seek work experience through professional internships in companies, facilitate and support IPB University students who have an interest in entrepreneurship through promoting their business in this activity,” said Rici.
Rici further said that this IPB Job Fair activity is routinely carried out by CDA IPB University twice a year. She added that the absorption of job applicants at the IPB Jobfair in 2023 which was successfully accepted by the companies present was 19 percent.
Rici explained, this figure became one part of the achievement of the career development program at IPB University which was able to absorb graduates in employment by 59 percent. As for the other 41 percent, the absorption of graduates through programs implemented by other units at IPB University such as Study Programs / Departments, Faculties / Schools, IPB Alumni Association Programs, and other units. This figure also participated in the achievement of the tracer study which showed the absorption of graduates into the industry by 76.23 percent.
To realize this mission, CDA IPB University again held IPB Job Fair 2024 in two batches, namely May – June and November – December. The event was held in a combination of on site and virtual with a series of activities including career preparation & selection, expo, webinar and in campus recruitment. The expo was enlivened with job, scholarship, internship, entrepreneurship and industrial insight expos. (dh/ra) (IAAS/Ard)
