IPB Vocational School Introduces Food Innovation “Talas Beneng” at the 2024 COBA ICIP Event

The IPB University’s Vocational School through the Industrial Management of Service, Food and Nutrition study program held the Innovation Expo for Food Development, Cipta Boga dan Diet – Indonesia Cerdas dengan Inovasi Pangan (COBA ICIP). The event was held at the IPB Baranangsiang Campus on 5/4.

This activity was organized to introduce product development from beneng taro commodities and be part of the learning process for the Industrial Management of Service, Food and Nutrition study program in the Culinary Creation and Diet course.

The Vice Dean of Academic, Student, and Alumni Affairs of the Vocational School IPB University, Dr Rina Martini, M.Si in her remarks, also appreciated the implementation of the activity. According to her, COBA ICIP activity can provide new insights to students regarding the implementation of food innovation.

“Through this event, it is hoped that students can increase their creativity and innovation in the food industry, especially in food products, and develop quality products so that they can benefit the community,” said Dr Rina.

On the same occasion, the Chairperson of Industrial Management of Service, Food and Nutrition Study Program, Annisa Rizkiriani, SGz, MSi expressed her full support for the activity organized by the 59th batch of Industrial Management of Service, Food and Nutrition students.

“Through this activity, it is hoped that students can apply their knowledge and skills in developing innovative food products for the community,” said Annisa.

Annisa continued, that all Industrial Management of Service, Food and Nutrition students from the 59th batch participated in preparing the event through the presentation of products developed by students using beneng taro flour as the raw material used. “The event that was organized received positive responses from the participants and guests who attended,” she said.

The series of events at the 2024 EXPO COBA ICIP began with a pre-event, the Business Plan Competition, which was attended by students from various Universities in Indonesia. The event continued with seminars, talk shows, and live cooking related to product development from beneng taro commodities.

The 2024 COBA ICIP was also attended by food innovation expert Prof Budi Setiawan, and Chef Zahakir Haris, SP. (GH/ASW/Lp) (IAAS/PRP)
