Margajaya Village, Bogor, West Java, will soon implement the Quality Family School (SKB) program, which is one of IPB University’s innovations in the social sector. SKB is a collaborative program between the Directorate of Agromaritime Community Development (DPMA) and the Department of Family and Consumer Sciences (IKK) of IPB University.

At the inaugural meeting held at Jalan Dramaga Kaum RT 02/05, Bogor Regency, the event was attended by various parties including Lurah Margajaya, family facilitators, posyandu cadres, as well as Directorate of Agromaritime Community Development (DPMA) and Department of Family and Consumer Sciences (IKK) IPB University teams.

Somiki, Lurah Margajaya stated that SKB in Margajaya Village is one of the important steps in improving the quality of residents, both in terms of knowledge and experience.

“We from the government would like to thank you for being invited to collaborate in improving the quality of society,” he said. He also hopes that this program can run in harmony with village development in improving human resources.

Nurul Amirah, SKPm, one of the Directorate of Agromaritime Community Development (DPMA) IPB University team explained, this SKB was initially focused on overcoming stunting. However, given the complexity of the problem, the scope was then expanded to family empowerment.

“This implementation will be carried out seven times with a duration of two hours per meeting every week,” he added. The criteria for participants are mothers who have toddlers or are pregnant and are committed to following the program until the end.

The discussion session then discussed the technical implementation, such as the schedule and location of the meetings. It is estimated that the program will begin in mid-June, adjusting to the lecturer’s field schedule. Each posyandu will send three representatives.

Somiki also suggested inviting the Family Planning (KB) program manager to be a resource person in this program so that the collaboration can be more comprehensive. “Try to coordinate, so that we can collaborate in any form,” he told the cadres present.

With the SKB program, it is hoped that this program can improve the quality of life of the Margajaya Village community through new knowledge and experiences gained from each meeting. (*/Rz) (IAAS/HLF)
