IPB University’s Delegation Attends Postgraduate Micro-Credential for Food Security and Climate Change Training Workshop at Kasetsart University, Thailand

IPB University Postgraduate School (SPs) delegates attended training and workshops for writing the Postgraduate Micro-Credential for Food Security and Climate Change (PMC-FSCC) module at Kasetsart University, Thailand, 22-26/4. The delegation of IPB University consists of Prof Titi Candra Sunarti, Vice Dean for Resource, Collaboration and Development of SPs IPB University, Dr Eko Hari Purnomo, Chairman of the Department of Food Science and Technology, Faculty of Agricultural Technology IPB University, Dr I. Putu Santikayasa, Chairman of Applied Climatology Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences IPB University.

This collaboration project was attended by members of the Southeast Asian Regional Centre for Graduate Study and Research in Agriculture (SEARCA-UC Member). Members of SEARCA-UC consist of IPB University, Gadjah Mada University, and Brawijaya University, Kasetsart University (Thailand), Maejo University (Thailand), The University of Philippines Los Banos (Philippines), Central Luzon State University (Philippines), Visayas State University (Philippines), Putra Malaysia University (Malaysia) and Malaysia Sabah University (Malaysia), as well as supported by Georg-August-Universität Göttingen (Germany) and Universität Für Bodenkultur Wien, (Austria).

Prof Titi Candra Sunarti said that this activity is part of the PMC-FSCC project funded by ERASMUS-EDU-2023-CBHE. The project is a transnational cooperation project based on multilateral partnerships, especially between higher education institutions for capacity building in the field of higher education.

“This PMC-FSCC project will compile five micro-credential modules focussed on food security and climate change. Later, the module will be used by project members in learning and teaching activities,” she said.

In an effort to enhance participants’ skills in instructional design, Prof Titi Candra Sunarti explained that this activity aims to provide hands-on learning about writing and developing educational modules. The content of these modules will be directly tied to the learning achievements outlined in a previously completed micro-credential program. To ensure a high-quality learning experience, a team of facilitators from the esteemed University of the Philippines Los Banos will be guiding participants throughout the process

“The training program comprised nine individual lessons, each focusing on a specific writing module and its corresponding assessment methods. The responsibility for developing these modules fell to a collaborative team comprised of experts from IPB University, Brawijaya University, and The University of Philippines Los Banos. Their chosen theme centered on Risk Assessment in Food Security and Climate Change, and each component of these modules was then presented and discussed during the workshop itself.,” she added.
