IPB University Vocational School students from the Agribusiness Management Study Program (MAB) batch 59 successfully held an Agribusiness Expo (Agri Expo) themed ‘Bogor Culinary Adventure’, Wednesday (15/5). The event, designed to help micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in promoting and marketing culinary products, is part of the implementation of project-based learning (PBL) in the Business Communication and Negotiation course.

Taking place at the IPB University Vocational School Campus, the Agri Expo featured various types of culinary, from traditional to modern. Participated by various MSMEs from Bogor City, this expo not only aims to introduce local products, but also to improve students’ skills in marketing and branding aspects, as well as the utilization of technology in business development.

In the opening ceremony, Business Communication and Negotiation Course Coordinator, Dr Yusalina expressed the importance of this activity in the context of learning for students. Furthermore, she emphasized that these skills are an integral part of developing student professionalism that is not only useful in an academic context, but also very relevant in the dynamic and often challenging world of work.

“Resources are important, with the expo activities from this course, students can learn how to communicate and negotiate, as well as how to handle conflicts,” said Dr Yusalina.

Meanwhile, the teaching team of Business Communication and Negotiation course lecturer Dr Doni Sahat Tua, also gave his views on the importance of this expo for the development of student skills.

“This Expo activity is part of the course project implemented at IPB University Vocational School. Of course this will also support the development of students’ soft skills, especially in terms of communication, negotiation, leadership and how to collaborate and establish partnerships with MSMEs in Bogor City,” said Dr Doni.

The event ended with a series of announcements, including the winners of door prizes, the best mascot, and the best stand. This activity is expected to improve students’ ability to communicate and negotiate, as well as strengthen the relationship between IPB University Vocational School and the community of MSME players.
