IPB University Sukabumi Campus Students Successfully Hold MSME Bazaar Festival
Students of Agribusiness Management Study Program (MAB) Class Q of IPB Vocational School Sukabumi successfully carried out Project Based Learning (PBL) through the UMKM Bazaar Festival, 12/5. The MSME Festival was held at School of Vocational Studies IPB University Sukabumi Campus with the aim of promoting Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in Sukabumi and introducing the campus to the wider community.
The UMKM Bazaar Festival is part of the PBL implementation in the Business Communication and Negotiation course. Through this festival, students have the opportunity to hone their skills in marketing products, organizing events, and utilizing technological developments to develop businesses. At least 20 MSMEs from Sukabumi City and Regency participated in the festival. The MSMEs exhibited a variety of products ranging from traditional to modified food, as well as handicraft products such as bags and trinkets.
Business Communication and Negotiation Course Coordinator, Dr Yusalina opened the MSME Festival by cutting the ribbon embedded in the gate. In her opening remarks, she conveyed the importance of this activity in the context of learning for students and expressed her pride in the committee’s hard work.
“This activity is an important step for students in learning practical business communication and negotiation. I am proud of the dedication and hard work of the committee who have organized this event,” said Dr Yusalina.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Manager of IPB Sukabumi Campus, Dr Andri Iskandar, appreciated the students who successfully organized this UMKM festival. He hopes that the students will be able to become entrepreneurs who contribute to the progress of society after graduation.
“I hope students will not only become job seekers after graduation, but also learn to become entrepreneurs who contribute to the progress of society, not only in Sukabumi, but also throughout Indonesia,” said Dr Andri.
As part of the festival, Students of Agribusiness Management Study Program IPB University students also invited the Sukabumi District Office of Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises to be a resource person in a seminar for MSME players. The seminar aimed to provide understanding and open opportunities for MSMEs in attendance to establish mutual cooperation.
The UMKM Bazaar Festival emphasized School of Vocational Studies IPB Sukabumi’s commitment to supporting local economic development through education that is relevant to industry needs. This event proved that project-based education can provide real benefits for students and the community. With the success of this event, School of Vocational Studies IPB Sukabumi hopes to continue to support and contribute to local economic development and inspire students to continue to innovate and develop their skills.
