IPB University Student Joins MSIB Programme as Social Media Specialist
MSIB or Internship and Certified Independent Study is one of the flagship programmes of Kampus Merdeka launched by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. This programme aims to provide students with real work experience and the opportunity to learn off campus in a structured and certified manner.
In addition to skill development and creativity, students also have the opportunity to build professional networks with various companies and institutions. Therefore, this programme is of great interest to many students in Indonesia, including Friska Aurelia.
Friska Aurelia is a 6th semester student of Digital Communication and Media Study Programme of Vocational School (SV) IPB University. She joined the MSIB internship programme at PT Digital Inisiatif or often known as Kompas Gramedia in Central Jakarta. She works under the Marketing Communication team as a Social Media Specialist in Kontan news media.
“I am very happy to have joined the Kontan team. This experience opens many new insights for me. Kontan is an economic and business news media, I also get a lot of business-related material such as digital marketing strategies,” Friska said enthusiastically.
In her role, she is responsible for managing and developing Kontan’s social media content, including content strategy, creating interesting posts, and analysing content performance.
“Creativity and being quick to respond to trends in social media, while ensuring the information or news that is delivered remains accurate and useful for readers is important in this task,” Friska added.
Aside from gaining technical skills, Friska also appreciated the experience of being a part of a solid and professional team. “The mentors and seniors here are very kind and always ready to help. They gave me a lot of advice and feedback that helped me grow,” she said.
Friska advises other students to take advantage of internship opportunities like this. “The MSIB programme is a great platform to develop yourself and gain relevant work experience. Don’t hesitate to try and learn new and challenging things,” Friska concluded.
With her passion and dedication, Friska Aurelia has proven that the MSIB programme can be an effective bridge to a successful and fulfilling career.
