IPB University Signs MoU with PT Prodia Widyahusada and PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda
IPB University signed an MoU with PT Prodia Widyahusada, Tbk and PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda. Cooperation with the two institutions is carried out in the fields of education, research and community service and the application of innovation. The MoU signing ceremony was held in the Session Room 2 of IPB Dramaga Campus, Bogor, (16/5).
Assistant Vice President Business of PT Prodia Widyahusada Tbk, Dr Dwi Yuniati Daulay expressed her gratitude and honor to be able to establish cooperation with IPB University. “This month is the 51st anniversary of PT Prodia. Since its establishment, PT Prodia’s mission is to provide leading services and become the center of excellent laboratory examination,” she explained.
She said that PT Prodia has also provided research services since 25 years ago. Until now, there have been around 5,000 researches for doctoral, specialist and professor study programs. Of course, he said, this is closely related to the academic field.
Furthermore, she said that in the social field, PT Prodia has also made many educational efforts for the community. She hoped that this MoU can strengthen both parties.
“So far, there have been more than 40 doctoral employees who have received scholarships. In addition, through cooperation with educational institutions, some of Prodia’s team have also become lecturers. Hopefully, the signing of this cooperation can bring benefits to both institutions,”s he said.
Meanwhile, in relation to the MoU with PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda, Eko Setyo Nugroho, ST, MM. The Director of Finance and Risk Management of PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda said that his party had just inaugurated the NPK fertilizer industry. Therefore, he really needs resources in the field of agricultural engineering.
“In addition to the fertilizer industry, we are also developing experimental plantations, so we really need resources that are able to master agriculture in a broad sense,” Eko explained. In this event, he also appreciated the IPB University One Village One CEO program that could be developed in the industrial area of PT Pupuk Iskandar Muda.
Vice Rector of IPB University for Global Connectivity, Collaboration and Alumni Relation, Prof Iskandar Z Siregar welcomed this cooperation. Regarding graduate resources, he admitted that the reputation of IPB University graduates has received global recognition and has always increased its reputation.
“At the global level, IPB University is now ranked 500 in the world based on QS World University Ranking. This is very influential, especially if you are going to work abroad such as the most populous city in Xinjiang, which requires foreign human resources (HR) entering the region to come from a university with a 500 world reputation,” said Prof Iskandar.
In addition, he emphasized the importance of paying attention to sustainability issues that have become a global concern in a business activity. Therefore, Prof Iskandar hopes that there will be an in-depth study related to this through this cooperation.
“On the other hand, the cooperation with PT Prodia is expected to strengthen IPB University’s research in the field of medicine. Although the Faculty of Medicine of IPB University is still very young, but the biomedical research of IPB University has been very much done exceeding the universities that have been established for a long time,” he concluded.
