Ensure UTBK-SNBT at IPB University Smoothly, IPB Quality Management Office Strictly Controlled

In the implementation of the Computer-Based Written Examination-National Selection Based Test (UTBK-SNBT) at IPB University this year, the IPB University Quality Management Office (KMM) carried out strict control over a series of implementation of this selection path.

“Organizationally, KMM is one of the organs in charge of monitoring and evaluation (monev) which is determined through a Decree (SK) from the General Chairperson of the Team in Charge of the National Selection of New Student Admissions (SNPMB),” said Chairman of KMM IPB University, Dr I Wayan Nurjaya, MSc.

In the decree, he continued, there are tasks that must be carried out by KMM who was appointed as the monitoring and evaluation coordinator. “We are tasked with ensuring that the implementation of UTBK is in accordance with the Standard Operating Procedures (POB) that have been implemented by the central committee starting from preparation, implementation to the end of the activity,” he said.

“KMM is also tasked with gathering information from supervisors, students or parents of participants in the implementation of UTBK to be used as an evaluation or improvement in the future. We report the results to the central committee with the instruments they have provided,” said Dr I Wayan.

He revealed that KMM has the obligation to coordinate with the UTBK Chief Executive, namely the Vice Rector of Education and Student Affairs. In addition, KMM must also coordinate monitoring and evaluation activities by assigning KMM members to several UTBK locations at IPB University.

“In the implementation of UTBK, the readiness of the committee in serving UTBK participants must be considered. Computer facilities and exam rooms at IPB University are adequate for use by UTBK participants. Other facilities such as parking, canteens, and instructions or information are also provided around the exam location. The committee has also provided public transportation such as buses for UTBK participants,” he said.

In addition, he explained that IPB University has places that can be visited by parents of UTBK participants such as the SDGs museum and lake. KMM IPB University has also served UTBK participants who have disabilities by providing facilities according to their needs.

“We have ensured the comfort and safety aspects and Alhamdulillah there has been a lot of appreciation for the committee at IPB University. The committee has also prepared various anticipations of possibilities if there is something that happens unexpectedly,” said Dr I Wayan.

He hoped that the monitoring and evaluation activities by KMM IPB University on the implementation of UTBK could be carried out well and the quality could improve in the following year. “That way, next year there will be more prospective students who have an interest in entering IPB University and we will continue to maintain and improve the quality,” he concluded.
