The Indonesian science world is once again happy with the inauguration of Prof Dr Isnaeni as a Research Professor at the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN). The photonics expert, an alumnus of the Department of Physics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) IPB University, was inaugurated on Thursday (25/4), in a scientific ceremony attended by colleagues, academics, and high-ranking state officials.

Prof Isnaeni in his scientific oration entitled “Utilization of Quantum Dots in the Energy and Environmental Fields in Indonesia” explained the extraordinary potential of this nano semiconductor material in various applications, such as solar cells, energy-efficient lighting, and environmental sensors. He emphasized the importance of developing photonics technology to answer energy and environmental challenges in Indonesia, and encouraged the younger generation to contribute to this field.

Prof Isnaeni’s experience and expertise in the field of photonics are widely recognized by the national and international scientific community. He has produced many scientific publications in reputable journals and is active in various collaborative research projects. His inauguration as BRIN Research Professor is a tangible proof of his dedication and commitment in advancing science and technology in Indonesia.

“I am honored and grateful for this inauguration. I hope to continue contributing to the development of photonics technology in Indonesia and help solve the various challenges facing our nation,” he said.

Prof Isnaeni is an outstanding alumni of the Physics Department of IPB University. He completed his undergraduate studies in 2000 and continued his master’s studies at the University of Queensland Australia. He then pursued his doctoral studies at the Korea Advance Institute of Science and Technology in South Korea. Currently, he is listed as the Chief of the BRIN Photonics Research Center and is actively involved in teaching and research at the Physics Department of IPB University.

Prof Isnaeni’s inauguration as BRIN Research Professor is expected to motivate young researchers in Indonesia to continue working and innovating. He shows that with hard work, dedication, and high commitment, it is possible to reach the top of a career in science and technology. (*/Rz) (IAAS/Ard)
