IPB Press, as a leading university press known for its commitment to improving literacy, has established a strategic partnership with the Central Executive Board (MPP) of the Indonesian Muslim Scholars Association (ICMI) Youth to strengthen knowledge dissemination efforts throughout Indonesia.

This collaboration signifies IPB Press’ commitment to continue advancing literacy in Indonesia. With the support of the Indonesian Muslim Scholars Association (ICMI) Youth, an organisation with an extensive network of scholars, IPB Press will further expand the scope of access to quality knowledge sources in various parts of the country.

One of the flagship initiatives of IPB Press is the “Literacy in Hand” programme, which is designed to facilitate public access to digital book and journal collections for free. Through this programme, IPB Press seeks to bring the benefits of literacy to as many individuals in Indonesia as possible, regardless of geographical or economic boundaries. In addition, it also helps to make IPB University journals more widely available.

The collaboration with the Indonesian Muslim Scholars Association (ICMI) Youth is an important step for IPB Press in expanding the positive impact of the Literacy in Hand programme. With the synergy between the expertise of IPB Press and the extensive network of the Indonesian Muslim Scholars Association (ICMI) Youth, it is hoped that this programme can reach more Indonesians, especially those in remote areas.

In commenting on this collaboration, Erick Wahyudyono, Director of IPB Press stated, “We are very enthusiastic about the opportunity to work collaboratively with the Youth of the Indonesian Muslim Scholars Association (ICMI). By holding our hands, we will be confident that we can create a real positive impact in improving literacy in Indonesia.”

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Indonesian Muslim Scholars Association (ICMI) Youth MPP, Dr Ismail Rumadan stated, “Our collaboration with IPB Press is a reflection of the unity of mind which is dedicated to nurturing a generation of intellectuals in Indonesia. Through initiatives such as ‘Literacy in Hand’, it is very much in line with the theme of the intellectuality movement.”

The signing ceremony of the memorandum of understanding (MoU) is a strong first step towards empowering literacy in Indonesia. The event was witnessed by key stakeholders from both entities, one of whom was Dr Naufal Mahfudz, controlling shareholder of IPB Press as well as CEO of PT Bogor Life Science Technology (BLST), the Holding Company of IPB.

In addition, the event was also attended by representatives from the literacy community, publishers, and the academic world. With support from prominent organisations such as the Youth Association of Indonesian Muslim Scholars (ICMI), this new collaborative effort is poised to reach every corner of Indonesia, reaching individuals previously untouched by traditional literacy channels. IPB Press is committed to continue working together with various parties, including the Youth Association of Indonesian Muslim Intellectuals (ICMI), in order to create a smart and civil society.
