DPMA from IPB University Holds Lecture on the First Briefing of KKN Thematic Innovation for the 2024 Period

The Directorate of Agromaritime Community Development (DPMA) held the inaugural debriefing Lecture of the Thematic Real Work Lecture (KKNT) of IPB University Innovation for the June to August period, on Saturday, 30/3 online through a zoom meeting.

The Innovation Real Thematic Work Lecture period will be attended by 3,333 students from all Faculties and Schools at IPB University, which will be held on June 24 to August 5, 2024. The material carried in this briefing, regarding Communication Ethics and Approaches in the Community and IPB Digitani: Communication Media and Agricultural Consultation.

The debriefing activity was opened by a speech and a report from the Director of Agromaritime Community Development (DPMA) of IPB University, Dr Handian Purwawangsa. “The briefing activity aims to provide an understanding of the concept of The Innovation Real Thematic Work Lecture (KKNT), as well as provide provision to prospective students regarding communication ethics to the community,” said Dr Handian.

He emphasised that Innovation Real Thematic Work Lecture (KKNT) students from various faculties will be distributed throughout Indonesia and the integration of Innovation Real Thematic Work Lecture (KKNT) activities will be carried out with other community service programs that have been carried out.

“The Thematic Real Work Lecture (KKNT) activities will be carried out in 8 provinces, 48 regencies and cities in Indonesia, with an estimated number of villages of 417. The number of villages is based on the faculty’s proposal and refers to the implementation of the 2023 Innovation Real Thematic Work Lecture (KKNT),” he said.

This activity was also attended by Prof Ernan Rustiadi as Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, and Agromaritime Development of IPB University. He explained about the benefits of KKN activities that will be carried out by students. “Students as agents of change are expected to be able to become facilitators for the dissemination of innovations from IPB University to the public, one of which is by utilising and using the IPB Digitani application,” he said.

In line with that, Prof Deni Noviana explained about the learning outcomes that students will achieve while participating in KKN. “Students are able to train soft skills such as leadership and committee, communication skills, as well as networking with fellow students, village stakeholders and the community directly,” he said.

“KKN who will hone leadership skills for himself and the knowledge he has to collaborate with fellow students from different majors, who will be accompanied by supervisors to provide input and solutions to the program that will be implemented later,” explained Prof Deni.

The Concept of Innovation Real Thematic Work Lecture (KKNT) was presented by the Assistant Director of Agromaritime Services and Digital Farming, which emphasised the meaning of the KKN theme “IPB Present: Sustainable Development of Agromaritime Communities to Achieve Socio-Resilience”

“This theme means that Thematic Real Work Lecture of IPB University students come to the community to live together and bring innovation from IPB University. This innovation will be implemented to the community in building sustainable programs,” he said.

The presentation of the debriefing lecture material was presented by Prof. Pudji Muljono regarding Communication Ethics and Approach in the Community and Dr Roza Yusfiandayani, regarding IPB Digitani: Communication Media and Agricultural Consultation. (IAAS/FIK)
