Good News, Postgraduate Students at IPB University Can Now Graduate Faster
The Postgraduate School (SPs) of IPB University conducted monitoring and evaluation (Monev) of doctoral and master’s program students with several collaboration partners in a hybrid format at the Grand Savero Hotel, Bogor (5-7/3). The purpose of this Monev was to monitor the progress of students’ studies and to explore further cooperation programs between SPs IPB University and several collaboration partners.
The event was attended by Prof Dodik Ridho Nurrochmat, Dean of SPs, Prof Agus Buono, Vice Dean of Academic and Student Affairs, Prof Titi Candra Sunarti, Vice Dean of Resources, Cooperation, and Development, program study chairs (prodi), SPs IPB University educational staff, and representatives from the program secretariat.
“With the availability of Monev facilities, students sponsored by collaboration partners can receive attention from all parties to ensure they can graduate quickly,” said Prof Agus Buono.
He explained that the number of students monitored this semester ranged from the 2019 to 2023 cohorts, totaling 488 students, both from master’s and doctoral programs.
Prof Agus Buono also explained that there have been some changes in academic regulations, especially regarding academic publications and graduation. SPs IPB University is currently developing the Prior Learning Recognition (RPL) pathway, which is expected to enable students to graduate more quickly.
“Unlike the previous RPL, when applying, students can submit RPL by providing a portfolio that will be assessed by a team, with a maximum recognized credit of 15 semester credit units (SKS) for master’s programs and 12 SKS for doctoral programs, so with this RPL, students can graduate faster,” he explained separately.
Prof Titi Candra Sunarti added that for the admission of new doctoral, master’s, and engineer profession program students, SPs IPB University will reopen for the odd semester of the academic year 2024/2025 with two periods. The first period will be open from February 26 to July 16, 2024, through the website https://admisi.ipb.ac.id.
“We hope that our collaboration partners can send their employees for study or leave assignments at SPs IPB University by registering in this odd semester,” she added.
Some collaboration partners in this semester’s Monev included the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, the National Food Agency, the Food and Drug Administration, the Geospatial Information Agency, Bina Sarana Informatika University, the Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), and the National Development Planning Agency (Bappenas).
