DPMA IPB University Holds Workshop on Assistance in Submitting BIMA 2024 Service Proposals
The Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Kemendikbud Ristek) again opens funding opportunities for “Research and Community Service” for universities. The implementation of research and community service programs will be carried out through the Research and Community Service Information Base (BIMA) application.
The use of this BIMA application is used as an integrated information system and will fully support the making of research and service proposals from academics. In this regard, the Directorate of Agro Maritime Community Development (DPMA) of IPB University held a “Workshop on Assistance in Proposing Community Service Proposals” on Wednesday, 20/3.
“This activity aims to increase the number of BIMA proposals specifically for community service that qualify for funding. Based on previous experience, there are still many things that need to be considered and missed from submitting service proposals, especially related to administration and selection of schemes that are not suitable. Therefore, this activity is deemed necessary to be carried out to minimize errors,” said Dr Handian Purwawangsa, Director of DPMA IPB University.
He believes that the substance of the proposals from the lecturers is very good, so it only needs assistance related to administration. “We from DPMA will facilitate consultation rooms related to proposals and administrations from the upload stage to the submission stage,” said Dr Handian Purwawangsa.
“This activity is expected to be the first step for DPMA IPB University to facilitate and assist lecturers in proposing service proposals through BIMA 2024,” said Dr Handian.
This activity also invited Dr I Wayan Budiastra, as the Ministry of Research and Technology’s BIMA Devotion Reviewer, who delivered material on “Community Service Grant Schemes by the Director of Research, Technology and Community Service (DRTPM) in 2024”. Topics discussed at this workshop included types of service schemes, preparation of proposals and assessment of service proposals.
“About 70 percent of service proposals from lecturers from all over Indonesia do not pass not because of substance but administration, so it is very necessary to pay attention to the requirements for each scheme to pass the administration. Some of the things that cause proposals to be rejected include teams that are not multidisciplinary, do not involve students, do not comply with the guidelines, letters of willingness of partners are not appropriate and so on,” explained Dr I Wayan.
“The 2024 schemes that can be submitted by lecturers are Community Partnership Empowerment (PKM), Community Empowerment by Students (PMM), Empowerment of Regional Superior Product Business Partners (PM-UPUD), Regional Empowerment (PW) and Assisted Village Empowerment (PDB) with funding of 50 million to 200 million,” said Dr I Wayan.
The activity was attended by around 168 people who were lecturers from various faculties at IPB University. In the question and answer session, the lecturers actively participated in discussing administrative and technical preparations for the program. (*/Lp) (IAAS/HLF)
