Blessings of Ramadan: Himakua FPIK IPB University Shares Joy with Al-Munawwar Orphanage
In the midst of Ramadan’s goodness, the Al-Munawwar Orphanage became a stage for heart-touching social actions. Not only organizing iftar, but the Social and Environmental Division of the Aquaculture Student Association (Himakua) of the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Sciences (FPIK) IPB University also conducted social service activities with the children of the orphanage and the surrounding community. This event was held on March 16th at the orphanage located on Jl Haur Jaya III, Tanah Sereal, Kota Bogor.
Unexpectedly, the number of volunteers present from IPB University’s Fisheries Department exceeded expectations. The local community also enthusiastically joined the event to spread smiles and happiness. The spirit of the volunteers and the participation of the surrounding community colored the atmosphere with laughter and uncontrollable joy.
Just before breaking the fast together, the Himakua IPB University team invited the orphanage children to play games together. Starting from brain-teasing quizzes to painting cups together. While waiting for iftar, the children were also invited to listen to Islamic stories.
This activity is expected to deeply touch open hearts and convey unforgettable messages of wisdom. Not only spreading happiness to the orphanage children, but the Himakua IPB University team also distributed iftar meals to the surrounding community, while inside the orphanage, the aroma of delicious food began to fill the room as iftar was being prepared. Congregational prayers also became a spiritual bonding agenda after breaking the fast, bringing warmth of faith among the participants.
“Through this activity, we want to plant seeds of goodness that will continue to grow and bear fruit for the orphanage children and the surrounding community,” said Naila, Chairperson of the Social and Environmental Division of Himakua IPB University, with enthusiasm.
