Actuarial study program under the Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) has a mandate to master actuarial science and apply it in various sectors. Second, the curriculum of this Actuarial Study Program is designed with international standards to ensure that every student has main competencies in actuarial fields that are in line with the professional actuator exam standards of the Indonesian Actuaries Association (PAI).
Other than that, this curriculum is also prepared in accordance with the curriculum of the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science at the University of Waterloo, Canada, giving students a deep and relevant understanding in facing the challenges of the global actuarial world.

Muhammad Dandi Saputra, one of the Actuarial students of IPB University as well as the President of the Actuarial Science Student Association (ASSA) for the 2023/2024 period, revealed that this study program is very helpful in preparing to become an actuary, considering that the actuaries in Indonesia are still very rare.
“To become an actuary is not easy, making the salary offered is very tempting. It varies greatly in terms of what is studied, but in general the application of mathematics, statistics and also economics. Actuarials also learn ‘basic to mid; related to coding, such as python and R languages,” said Dandi.
