IPB University Students Share Happiness with Orphanage Children
A noble initiative was carried out by a group of IPB University students who organised a visit to an orphanage. This activity is part of a social service programme to share happiness with orphanage children located in Balumbangjaya, Bogor City, precisely at Yayasan Titipan Ummat Indonesia.
The visit was initiated as one of the projects in the Leadership Dormitory bootcamp challenge, which aims to build better communication between group members as well as hone time, team and budget management skills. The activity was also a platform for students to interact directly with the children of the orphanage and share their life experiences.
During the visit, the student group organised various activities involving the orphanage children such as material presentation to playing games with the aim of strengthening the bond between students and orphanage children.
“We are very happy to be able to share happiness with these orphanage children. It’s not just about giving, but also about learning from them and creating meaningful moments,” said Aron, the group leader.
Aron explained that activities like this not only benefit the orphanage children, but also provide valuable experience for the students in broadening their social horizons and improving leadership and teamwork skills.
“Hopefully, this visit will be the beginning of an ongoing relationship between the Leadership Dormitory and other social programmes, and inspire more students to get involved in social activities that benefit the community,” he concluded. (*/Lp) (IAAS/RUM)
