IPB University Educational Animal Hospital is Collaborates with Central Hermina Hospital, Opens Kidney Transplant Operations Service
Animal Hospital of Education (RSHP), School of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences (SKHB) from IPB University cooperates with the Central Hermina Hospital. This cooperation is intended to open kidney transplant surgery service in humans.
Prof Gunanti, Division of Surgery and Radiology, SKHB IPB University said, previously, the Hermina Hospital team had participated in kidney transplant training in pigs whose anatomy and physiology were similar to humans. “This is already the second time, they want to do it five times already. Their team is very happy to be able to learn kidney transplants at RSHP SKHB IPB University, hopefully the ideas of Hermina Hospital can be carried out properly,” said Prof Gunanti.
Prof Gunanti explained, we have also done this kind of cooperation with the Gatot Subroto Hospital. The collaboration is in the form of a kidney transplant in dogs, by collaborating with the surgery and radiology department of Faculty of Veterinary Medicine (FKH) IPB University in the nineties. “I myself have been involved several times in kidney transplants in humans at Army Central Hospital (RSPAD), Gatot Subroto,” said Prof Gunanti.
Prof Gunanti said, currently RSHP IPB University is also in collaboration with Fatmawati Hospital Jakarta about liver and kidney transplant. Not only that, the Division of Surgery and Radiology from SKHB and RSHP at IPB University also collaborated with Indonesian Endolaparoscopic Surgery (PBEI). The collaboration was carried out 2-3 times every year regarding cholecystectomy, Hernia from 2004 to 2019. (IAAS/IAN)
