IPB University Vocational School becomes the home arena for the IBL Tokopedia 2024 season match

Sekolah Vokasi IPB University became the home arena in the Indonesian Basketball League (IBL) Tokopedia 2024 match which brought together Rans Simba Bogor and Bali United.

Rans Simba Bogor continued its progress in the IBL Tokopedia 2024 match against Bali United Basketball team at the Gymnasium of Sekolah Vokasi IPB University on Saturday (20/1). The match was the fourth time the two teams had met.

Dr Alim Setiawan Slamet who currently serves as Vice Rector of IPB University in the field of Resource Resilience and Infrastructure gave encouragement to the athletes who attended the match.

He was also proud and honoured that the Gymnasium of IPB University Vocational School was chosen as the home arena for the match after its inauguration last September 2023. Dr Alim appreciated the management of Rans Simba Bogor and the IBL for the opportunity to work together.

“We are very much looking forward to this opportunity and we are happy that the infrastructure of IPB University Vocational School can benefit not only IPB University residents, but also benefit the community in general,” he said.

“I believe sport is not just a sport, but basketball is a symbol of co-operation and the fighting spirit of today’s generation,” he continued.

Both teams were facilitated by adequate gymnasium infrastructure to support the smooth running of the match. Dr Alim hopes the athletes can play with high fighting spirit and sportsmanship.

“This opportunity is very good for IPB University, because the audience and IPB University residents who attend can learn and get inspired. I believe sport is a means to form a strong character and reflection,” said Dr Alim.

At the end of his speech, he hoped that Rans Simba Bogor could continue to collaborate by making the gymnasium of IPB University Vocational School as a homebase. (MW/Rz) (IAAS/RUM)
