Faculty of Animal Sciences (Fapet) IPB University held a Handover of Goods Grant in the form of a series of shell porosity and egg colour checking machine units consisting of Eggs Box Tool and Digital Colormeter by PT Nutricell Pacific. On the same occasion, the signing of the Cooperation and Implementation of Arrangement between Fapet IPB University and Nutricell was held in the Fapet Conference Room, IPB Dramaga Campus on 15/01.

Vice Dean for Resources, Cooperation and Development of Fapet IPB University, Dr Sri Suharti, said “The handover of this tool is intended for the Poultry Nutrition Division. The tool is very useful and necessary for the development of research in the field of poultry. We will also register the tool as an asset of IPB University,” she explained.

Dr Idat Galih Permana, Dean of Fapet IPB University appreciated the collaboration with PT Nutricell Pacific in the field of research, development, and grants of laboratory equipment, especially the division of poultry nutrition which is useful for research and practicum.

“Research on poultry nutrition in the industry can be more advanced, because the development of poultry technology is very rapid in Indonesia so that we as universities cannot always keep up with the speed of the needs of the poultry sector,” he said.

He also explained that cooperation could be carried out in providing education to customers at PT Nutricell. “Education can also be done through collaboration with us by trying the product directly on the farm. For us it is a form of community service and can indirectly attract potential customers to use the product because scientifically we can be cultivated, “he explained.

Professor of Fapet IPB University who initiated this activity, Prof Sumiati stated, “Thanks to the cooperation that we have established so far, Alhamdulillah we get a grant of tools that are needed for research and practicum for several courses that require this tool,” she said.

Ilham Akbar, a representative of PT Nutricell Pacific said that previous discussions had been held with Prof Sumiati. “As an initial idea, in the industry we prioritise two tools for eggs. So what we know is that consumers have two assessment parameters for choosing eggs. So how can we or nutritionists quantify that perception into a number,” she explained.

This activity was attended by Fapet leaders including the Vice Dean for Academic, Student and Alumni Affairs Prof Irma Isnafia Arief, the Chairmen of the Departments namely Prof Asep Gunawan and Dr Heri Ahmad Sukria. From Nutricell, Dr Wira Wisnu Wardani as Director was present with the team. (Femmy/Lp) (IAAS/RUM)
