Prof Bayu Krisnamurthi, IPB University Agribusiness Lecturer Appointed as President Director of Perum Bulog

Minister of State Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Erick Thohir officially appointed Prof Bayu Krisnamurthi, Lecturer of the Faculty of Economics and Management of IPB University to become President Director of Perum Bulog replacing Budi Waseso.

The inauguration was the result of an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders (EGMS) conducted by Semen Indonesia Group (SIG) on Friday 1/12 in Jakarta.

Prof Bayu Krisnamurthi was appointed through the Decree of the Minister of SOEs number SK-341/MBU/12/2023 dated December 1st, 2023 on the Dismissal and Appointment of Members of the Board of Directors of Perum Bulog.

The lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Management of IPB University said that the state’s mandate and trust must be well maintained especially considering Bulog’s very strategic position in maintaining food sovereignty.

“The position entrusted to me at the same time continues the leadership by Budi Waseso which in my opinion has been good in overseeing the transformation of Bulog until now,” Prof. Bayu said.

He added that Budi Waseso’s leadership was able to bring Bulog through difficult times and was able to maintain Bulog’s institution to be strong and able to carry out every mission assigned by the state well.

After the handover, the IPB University Agribusiness Department Lecturer held a brief limited meeting with the old and new directors to discuss the next steps to determine future strategies to face Christmas and New Year and global uncertainty.

During the same occasion, the Minister also appointed the Head of the National Food Agency, Arief Prasetyo Adi as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Perum Bulog replacing Prof Bayu Krisnamurthi. (Lp) (IAAS/MKY)
