Preparing Fully Self-Paced Courses, DTPTP IPB University Holds CCKEM 2023 Coaching Clinic

The Directorate of Educational Transformation and Learning Technology (DTPTP) of IPB University organised an Offline Coaching Clinic Compulsory Competitive Collaborative Embryonic MOOCs (CCKEM) event. The activity was held by presenting speakers from the Indonesia Cyber Education (ICE) Institute and the Teaching Team of 37 CCKEM courses at Swiss-Belhotel Bogor.

“The CCKEM activity is intended to encourage courses that have been curated through HKIP / PKEM activities in the previous year, to be increasingly ready for Self-Paced IPB MOOCs that we are developing,” said Prof Deni Noviana as Vice Rector of IPB University for Education and Student Affairs.

He also said, “It is a necessity for lectures to be presented in online and self-paced form. This is so that IPB University contributes significantly to play a role in educating all people who have limited access to higher education.”

Director of TPTP IPB University, Ir Lien Herlina, MSc added that IPB MOOcs in the future is a must. Therefore, IPB University must prepare online courses (MK) based on Self-Paced Learning Method (SLM) from now on.

“Today’s coaching is very important so that the embryo of MOOCs IPB is really realised,” he said.

Offline Coaching CCKEM presented two speakers from ICE Institute, namely Dr Amalia Makmur from Pradita University and Riatun, SSos, MIKom from Multimedia Nusantara University.

Dr Amalia explained about SLM as an obligation that must be presented by 37 CCKEM courses. She also shared experiences about the implementation of lectures with this method which is certainly online, asynchronous and high flexibility. According to her, IPB University lecturers really need to know the application of this SLM.

The second speaker, Riatun, conveyed about the SLM assessment rubric, namely how to measure the achievement of course learning outcomes (CPMK) if SLM lectures are held. This is important so that lecturers can be sure that students will get completeness from this SLM lecture.

Also present were three facilitators, namely Eka Julianti, SKom, MMSi from ICE Institute, Ahmad Arif, SPd from Universitas Multimedia Nusantara, and Erick Dazki, SKom, MKom from Pradita University who helped present and demonstrate SLM material as compulsory from CCKEM activities.

“The purpose of this Offline Coaching Clinic CCKEM activity is to prepare Self-Paced IPB MOOCs learning complete with teaching documents. Hopefully, there are 37 courses ready to be presented at ocw.ipb.ac.id that meet the 7 dimensions of IPB’s MK curation,” said Dr Kaswanto.

The teaching documents, he continued, included Semester Learning Plan (RPS), Online Learning Plan (RPD) and Assessment Rubric.
Furthermore, he said, this activity also contributed to the perspective of achieving the main performance indicators (KPI) 7 of IPB University. “Even this coaching activity will also continue regularly in the Digital e-Learning Transformation Space (DeLTS) DTPTP IPB University,” he said.

He hoped that after this activity, the coordinators and Teaching Team of 37 CCKEM courses can improve their teaching documents well so that they become fully self-paced courses for IPB MOOCs. (*/Rz) (IAAS/DSR)
