IPB University’s OVOC Program Holds Innovation Expo of Community Assistance Products in Kalimantan
IPB University’s One Village One CEO (OVOC) program 2023 field project activities have been carried out in 13 villages located in Central Kalimantan and South Kalimantan. IPB University students and lecturers distribute various appropriate technology innovations and provide assistance to improve the quality of commodities in each village.
The OVOC program this year is a collaborative program from PT Adaro Indonesia and IPB University through matching funds. To introduce these innovative products, OVOC held an innovation expo on 13/12 at Taman Inovasi, IPB Dramaga Campus.
Dr Handian Purwawangsa, as the Director of Agromaritime Community Development (DPMA) expressed his appreciation to the students and lecturers who have contributed a lot to assist the community in increasing the capacity of the community in forming a village business ecosystem.
“This expo activity is an appreciation and introduction of IPB University innovation, in this case students and lecturers make a full contribution as academics in carrying out mentoring and technology transfer to the community. Through this OVOC program, various village potentials can be developed to form a quality and independent village business ecosystem,” said Dr Handian.
The activity was also reviewed by the Social Entrepreneurship Supervisor of DPMA IPB University, Muhammad Isbayu, S.P. He expressed his hope for the future development of innovative products.
“I think this innovation product is very useful and can also be applied continuously. Hopefully, all the knowledge that has been applied can help the community more to improve the quality of life which will ultimately affect the village ecosystem,” he said.
Isbayu continued, the OVOC Program is one of IPB University’s efforts to channel various innovations and appropriate technology from lecturers, experts and academics for community development.
A total of four booths were set up featuring innovative products from the craft, livestock, fisheries and agriculture clusters. Some of the innovative products produced include sasirangan cloth, various bamboo handicrafts, kelulut honey products, animal feed candy, processed livestock products, processed fish products, product packaging innovations, and various cultivation SOP guidelines.
