Digital marketing strategies can be the key to success in managing tourist villages, as is the case in the city of Bogor which is currently developing the tourism sector. Of course, this needs to be realized through collaboration and synergy with various parties.

This was done by a team of IPB University Vocational School lecturers by holding the Lecturers Serving Innovation program: Increasing Digital Marketing Capacity for Tourism Village Managers in Bogor City, some time ago. This theme is relevant to efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), namely the 4th SDGs and the 11th SDGs.

Dozens of participants came from the Bogor City Tourism Mobilization Group (Kompepar). They are the managers of tourist villages in Bogor City, including Pulo Geulis Tourism Village, Labirin Tourism Village, Batik Tourism Village, Saung Eling Tourism Village, Mulyaharja Village, Perca Tourism Village, Situ Gede Village, Duren Village, Tajur Mural Thematic Village and others.

“Digital marketing strategies also enable tourist village managers to interact with potential tourists directly through various online communication channels,” explained Willy Bachtiar, SIKom, MIKom, one of the Lecturers Serving Innovation team when presenting digital marketing strategy material at Bianco Costel, Bogor Tengah District, Bogor city.

The IPB University Vocational School lecturer from the Digital Communication and Media Study Program added that the various online communication channels include interesting content, targeted digital advertising, or even through the use of specific features offered by social media platforms to reach the right audience.

The next material was delivered by the Talk Project team, including Rana Rayendra who delivered material on the introduction to digital marketing and content marketing, and Joddy Caprinata who delivered material on e-commerce and customer relationship management. Also present was Ana Ismawati, SIP, MSi as Secretary of the Bogor City Tourism and Culture Office.

This team of dedicated lecturers consists of four IPB University Vocational School lecturers including Willy Bachtiar, SIKom, MIKom, Vivien Febri Astuti, SIKom, MIKom, Natasha Indah Rahmani ST, MT, and Rici Tri Harpin Pranata, SKPM, MSi. The dedicated team of lecturers believes in the importance of increasing digital marketing capacity for tourist village managers to answer the needs of the tourism industry and challenges in the current era of disruption.

“With increasing competition in the tourism industry, having a strong and well-managed presence in the digital realm can be a determining factor in attracting tourist attention and ensuring tourist villages remain competitive in the ever-growing tourism market,” explained Vivien.

“We hope that this activity can continue and not only benefit the community around the IPB University campus but can also reach the wider community,” said Natasha. (*/Rz) (IAAS/Res)
